IAnTeMo Counselling is committed to complying with the terms of the General Data Protection Regulations for the responsible and secure use of your information. This policy is in respect of the Privacy Act 1993.

When counselling bookings are made, we will ask for relevant contact details and personal information to enable us to set up appointments and provide a satisfactory consultancy service. Information collected has a standard format for all clients. If you choose not to provide personal information, we will contact you to discuss and alleviate any concerns you might have.

Your information will only be used to provide you with the services that are offered. Your information file will be identified with a unique number that will be disclosed to you when setting your first appointment.

We will not share your details with any other person or organisation unless expressly requested by you or without your knowledge and permission. We are obliged to disclose information if:

The reason complies with our reasons for collection.

It is necessary to uphold or enforce the law.

You authorise the disclosure.

The information will be used in an anonymous fashion that does not identify the information owner.

We will not collect other information about you from any other source unless expressly requested and authorised by you.

Counselling can be recorded at the client's request and will be stored securely for 7 years (as per APA standards).

We will take all reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of information you provide to us.

You have the right to request your personal information, with the only exceptions being if :

The information endangers a person's safety,

The information prevents the detection and investigation of criminal offences.

The information involves an unwarranted breach of someone else's privacy.

You have the right to correct any of your personal information if you feel the information is incorrect.

We will endeavour to ensure all personal information is accurate, up-to-date, complete, relevant and not misleading.

Information records will be audited at least annually as part of the IAnTeMo Counselling Company audit.
